Concept explainers
Interpretation:
The evidence that proves the presence of atoms in compound must be explained.
Concept introduction:
Different compounds have different combination of atoms. The presence of atoms can be examines by many experiment like flame test and tests for special atoms.
Answer to Problem 1TAI
In flame test and other special tests, the presence of different atoms in a compound can be understood.
Explanation of Solution
Flame test is done to check the presence of sodium(Na), Potassium (K), calcium (Ca), Strontium (Sr), Copper (Cu) etc. Similarly Lassaigne’s test is done to check the presence of sodium (Na) with a piece of small sodium. Many other tests are there to check the presence of halogen, sulphur atoms in a compound.
Flame tests and other special tests for atom is done to check the presence of atoms in a compound.
