Concept explainers
Interpretation :
Five objects must be listed which look different in a mirror and five objects which do not look different in mirror.
Concept Introduction :
A symmetric object will not look different in mirror whereas an unsymmetrical object will look different in a mirror.
Answer to Problem 3E
Five objects which look different in mirror are leg, hand, shoe, sock and shirt.
Five objects which do not look different in a mirror are football, coin, glass, dish and plain t-shirt.
Explanation of Solution
There is partial change in mirror due to reflection. Thus unsymmetrical objects will look different. Left side of the object will be seen as right side in mirror. But for symmetrical objects there is no partial change after reflection. Thus the mirror images will look same as that of the objects.
