Thermodynamics is the analysis of heat transfer. Heat transfer direction is always from a hotter substance to a colder one.
Explanation of Solution
In thermal equilibrium, if two objects have different temperatures, heat transfer takes place and two objects remain in contact with each other until they attain the same temperature. Thus, energy is also transferred from one object to another. Energy is not created or destroyed. For example, heat is transferred from surrounding to ice when the ice melts.
Heat spreads into the environment when an object is warmer than its environment.
