Concept explainers
Interpretation:
The use of fire in the gas heaters to heat homes needs to be described.
Concept Introduction :
The power or capacity to perform work, for example: the capability to move an object by applying the force is known as energy.
Explanation of Solution
Fire is oxidation of materials in exothermic processes for example, combustion. In these reactions, light, heat and other products are formed. In some combustion reactions, flame can be seen that is the visible part of the fire.
In the burner, propane or natural gas is burned. Gas flow is activated with a valve. Ignition takes place by light or electric filament. The heat is transferred to the air with the help of the heat exchanger. The blower of the furnace pushes the heated air into the ductwork and spreads it in all over the home.
