Concept explainers
Interpretation:
The statement which says UV radiation change the color of UV-sensitive paper, needs to be explained.
Concept introduction:
Ultraviolet or UV radiation is a part of light spectrum. From Sun it reaches to earth. The UV spectrum that is not visible from human eye is composed of light with different wavelengths.
Answer to Problem 1E
UV-sensitive beads comprise an exceptional pigment that alters the color in the presence of the UV light which comes from sun or other ultraviolet sources.
Explanation of Solution
UV or ultraviolet light is an
The ultraviolet sensitive paper or beads has a pigment which alters the color once it is exposed in Sun’s UV radiation.Ultraviolet rays are an invisible kind of light which comes from Sun. Now a days even when the days are covered through cloud it contains UV rays. It might burn human’s skin and cause cancer, destroy human’s cells and eyes. Most of the UV light is blocked by the atmosphere and ozone layer of earth but still can get through and might be noticed. Beads stay white when it is not exposed to UV rays. Fluorescent or incandescent can’t impact them. Sometimes they named as Sun beads as well because it only reacts once it is exposed to UV rays. UV beads only turn into bright colors when exposed to ultraviolet rays.
