Interpretation:
Three things must be listed which need to be done before leaving the laboratory.
Concept introduction:
Laboratory isan important platform where different experiments are done. Particularly chemical laboratory needs precautions and safety measurements.
Answer to Problem 5E
Three things which need to be done before leaving the laboratory are as follows:
i) Oven must be switched off which is used to dry glassware.
ii) All the chemicals which are used must be kept after proper packing.
iii) Refrigerator in which chemicals are storedmust remain switched on.
Explanation of Solution
There are many unexpected accidents which may take place in a laboratory so special care must be taken with huge responsibility.
Spreading of fire in chemical laboratory can cause serious damage. So oven shouldn’t be left in on mode while leaving the laboratory.
Chemicals need to be packed properly as chemical can be spread out in the laboratory and release of harmful gases can take place.
Temperature sensitive chemicals need to be stored in low temperature and so the refrigerator must be in switched on.
