Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

Mass of ${\text{CuSO}}_{\text{4}}$ that has to be weighed to make $\text{250}\text{.0}\text{mL}$ of $\text{0}\text{.20}\text{M}$ solution has to be calculated.

Concept Introduction:

Molarity of the solution is defined as the number of moles of solute that is dissolved in the volume of solution in liters.  Unit of molarity is $\text{mol}\cdot {\text{L}}^{-1}$.  The equation for molarity is given as follows;

    $\text{Molarity (M)}=\frac{\text{Amount of solute in moles}}{\text{Volume of solution in liters}}$

From the above equation, the mass of solute can be calculated if the concentration and volume is known.
