Concept introduction:
When water evaporates from a glass, then amount of water in glass reduces as some amount of water is converted to water vapor which escapes from the glass.

Answer to Problem 5E
The number of atoms, the mass and the weight of the water in a glass reduce when it evaporates.
Explanation of Solution
Some of molecules of water is converted to water vapor which is added to the atmosphere. As loss of water molecules from glass takes place there will be less number of atoms in the glass. Both mass and weight of water in the glass will be reduced due to mass loss.
The number of atoms, the mass and the weight of the water in a glass reduce when it evaporates due to loss of water molecule from the glass.
