Answer to Problem 1E
Three things due to which rate of reaction between two liquids can be increased are,
Increase of temperature, increasing concentration of liquid and using a catalyst.
Explanation of Solution
Increasing temperature results increase of the average kinetic energy of reactant molecules. This results the rapid movement of particles and hence more collision occurs.
Reaction rate also increases if the concentration of reactants is more. More reactants in small volume results more collision. Catalyst is a substance that speeds up a reaction without being consumed in a reaction.
Many factors affects the rate of chemical reaction, such as, concentration, temperature etc.
