Answer to Problem 7RE
Less energy is required to raise the temperature of aluminum than to raise the temperature of water.
Explanation of Solution
In same amount less energy is required to raise the temperature of aluminum than to raise the temperature of water. This is because water has a high specific heat capacity than alumina.
Of a substance greater the specific heat capacity, less its temperature will grow when it absorbs a given amount of energy. A substance can change its temperature easily if has a low specific heat capacity.
