Explanation of Solution
In an exothermic reaction, the potential energy of the system decreases on conversion of reactant to product because energy is conserved, that is, sum of kinetic energy and the potential energy must remain same. So, the increase of kinetic energy occurs. In exothermic reactions, the products are hotter than the reactants as they possess higher average kinetic energy.
In exothermic reactions, some of the potential energy converts to kinetic energy which results increase of kinetic energy.
