Interpretation:
The reason for the effect of 200 mg of aspirin to be not same as 200 mg of ibuprofen tablet needs to be explained.
Concept Introduction:
Ibuprofen and aspirin are the over the counter drugs used for the treatment of inflammation and short-term pain. They are classified as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. They inhibit the production of the prostaglandins to decrease the inflammation.
Answer to Problem 2E
The effect of 200 mg of aspirin is not same as 200 mg of ibuprofen tablet due to different usage and different amount of its usage.
Explanation of Solution
Acetyl salicylic acid also known as aspirin is used for decreasing the risk of heart attack and death in those people who had a history of coronary artery disease. Also, it is used for the treatment of inflammatory symptoms like fever and pain. It is supplied in the different forms like 81 mg chewable tablet and 325 mg oral tablet.
Ibuprofen is used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain and for the inflammation caused in people due to arthritis and musculoskeletal pain. It is given as a 200 mg oral tablet or a capsule. It is monitored in those people who had a history of bleeding disorders and stomach ulcers.
As the usage and dosage of aspirin and ibuprofen is different that is why 200 mg tablet of aspirin and 200 mg tablet of ibuprofen does not have a same effect.
