Interpretation:
Fats and oils are called triacylglycerols. The reason behind this should be determined.
Concept introduction:
Triacylglycerols consisting of three molecules of fatty acids bound with one molecules of glycerol; a neutral fat that is the usual storage form of lipids in animals.
The main difference between fats and oils is for oils being liquid at room temperature, whereas, fats are solids. This is mainly due to the presence of larger percentage of unsaturated fatty acids in oils than fats that has mostly saturated fatty acids.
