Amino acids are nutritionally classified into three groups,

  • • Nonessential amino acids
  • • Conditional amino acids
  • • Essential amino acids.

Essential amino acids:

Essential amino acids are those which our body cannot produce through the biochemical machinery we possess and therefore it must be consumed through the food we eat.

They are the organic compounds which has nitrogen, carbon and hydrogen and oxygen and variable side chains which are used in various functions in the body

Nonessential amino acids are synthesized in the body and are therefore not necessary in the diet.
