Concept introduction:

Water:

About 60% of human body is water and this water occupies in two departments called the intracellular and extracellular compartments. The fluid inside the cells is known as intracellular fluids and the fluid outside the cells is known as extracellular fluids.

Functions of water are given below:

• Body temperature is regulated by water.
• Helps in transportation of oxygen and nutrients to the cells.
• Helps in conversion of food to energy.
• Helps in metabolism.
