Answer to Problem 25SSC
The periodic table is consists of mainly two subparts first is group and second is period. The arrangements of elements are different, based on thephysical and chemical properties.
Explanation of Solution
Elements are made up of similar types of atoms. Elements are taken place in the periodic table, with the same chemical nature or number of the valence electron in the same shells.
The groups are larger in number and name of groups are based on the feature of elements of that particular group. Elements of groups are the same in chemical and physical properties.
The periodic table is organized by rows and columns. In periodic table, rows are known as periods and columns are known as groups/ families. In the periods the electronic shell shows similarities. The vertical lines are known as a row or periods. The vertical lines in the periodic table are known as a row where they are lesser in number than the horizontal lines or columns. The periods are classified elements based on the number of valance electronic shells, and they are arranged from left to right side of the periodic table.
The basic concepts for the organization the periodic table is the physical and chemical properties of the elements. These properties classify the elements easily for their group or period.
