Interpretation: To identify the correct site of the production of chyme in the
Concept introduction: The food after ingestion, reaches the stomach through the food pipe. In the stomach, due to the churning action of the stomach wall muscles, the larger food particles are broken down into smaller particles. Along with the food particles, the lipid molecules, primarily, the triacylglycerols also break down. Chyme is the end product of this physical action of the stomach muscles on our food. It is a semi-liquid material composed of partially digested food, lipids and gastric secretions that help in the chemical breakdown of the food.
