Interpretation: The relation between the areas of high and low air pressure to the weather needs to be explained.
Concept Introduction: A region where at the sea level the atmospheric pressure is lower than the surrounding locations is a low pressure area. Similarly, if the pressure is higher than the surrounding locations, it will be a high pressure area.
Explanation of Solution
The weather of areas of low air pressures is associated with clouds and precipitation. This results in minimum change in temperature. The weather of areas of high air pressure is associated with dryness and clear sky. Here, the temperature change is large. Weather can be indicated by the atmospheric pressure. When in an area, a low pressure system is moved, it leads to cloud formation, precipitation and wind. On the other hand, the systems having high pressure can lead to calm the weather.
