Salicin is an example of naturally occurring glycosides. Glycosidesarecompounds that are formed through glycosidic linkage. These compounds have typical carbohydrate and non-carbohydrate moieties. The non-carbohydrate moieties are referred to as aglycones. Glycosideshave numerous medical applications and these compounds can be used as potential therapeutic agents.
