Two clear solutions can be distinguished whether they are ionic or covalent on the basis of their conductivity of electricity. The solution which conducts electricity is ionic solution and the solution which doesn’t conduct electricity is covalent solution.
Explanation of Solution
Ionic solution contains free ions, so due to these free ions ionic solution conducts electricity well whereas covalent solution doesn’t dissociate into ions, so due to absence of free ions covalent solution doesn’t conduct electricity.
