Calculation : We can clearly see here that the height of the pole to be placed is going to be the median of the given trapezoid thus formed by the two poles.

Hence, now we can say that

We know that the median of a trapezoid can be given as

  $m=\frac{a+b}{2}$

Hence, we substitute the given values, and we get

  $m=\frac{14+30}{2}=22$
