The molecules are held together by forces that exist between the molecules. These forces that exist are partially positive and partially negative charged molecule. These forces are dipole-dipole interactions. These are intermolecular forces of attraction.
There are other forces of attraction that are formed by transfer of electrons between atoms. Due to transfer of electrons, there are charges generated and a force of attraction exists between the oppositely charged ions. These are intramolecular forces of attraction.
