During the process of donating or gaining electrons, the atoms follow octet rule to attain a stable noble gas configuration.
The formation of ionic compounds is possible only when metal ion combines with non metal ion. Moreover, their charges are also required to indicate on its electrical neutrality on combination. Using these concepts, we can write chemical formula appropriately.
