  • The signals that are transmitted are released from the nerve cells called neurons.
  • Neurons have a bulb like structure with long and slim stem called axon.
  • The end of the axon and the bulbous end have many tentacle-like extensions called dendrites.
  • The small gap between the target cell and the tip of the neuron near to the target cell are called synapse.
  • Impulses are conducted from dendrites of neuron to another through the axon.
