The different ways for a second phase to precipitate in a two-phase microstructure needs to be determined.
Concept Introduction:
For describing the average positions of atoms in the unit cell, the term crystal structure is used. This is specified by using the lattice type structure. The determination of co-ordinates of the fraction is also by using this.
E.g. − X-ray diffraction
In simple terms, on atomic length scale, the availability of material is described by the crystal structure.
Microstructure is used for the description of the material availability on the nanometer-centimeter of length scale.
By using a range of microscopy, the microstructure of materials is observed. Physical properties of the material and its behavior are affected by detecting wrong microstructure detection.
