Introduction:

The chymotrypsin is a type of serine protease of size 27kDa (kiloDalton). It contains a serine protease triad with the residues Asp102 (aspartic acid), His57 (histidine), and Ser195 at its active site. This Ser, at position 195 at the active site, plays an important role in the catalytic process. The diisopropylfluorophosphate (DFP) is a potent, irreversible inhibitor of the serine proteases.
