Answer to Problem 6R

The increase in the temperature of an object is not equal to the decrease the temperature of the other object.

Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

Every object has its own specific heat which depends on object’s properties.

When one object heats another, the heat energy will transfer from one object to another. But every object has its own specific heat which depends on the property of the object. Both the objects have different specific heat. The object structure, material, mass etc. affects the energy transmission inside the particles. Therefore, the increase in temperature of one object in which the heat is transferred is not equal to the decrease in the temperature of that object from which the heat is taken out. Some heat energy also lost during the transmission also.

Conclusion:

Hence, the increase in the temperature of an object is not equal to the decrease the temperature of the other object.
