Introduction:
From the surface, an air conditioner and a heat pump may look nearly identical but there is a difference between the two.
The actual difference between a heat pump and an air conditioner is the valve. The heat pump and air conditioner work on basic refrigeration principle.
In the heat pump, a flip within the direction of refrigeration leads to warm air being pushed through the inside vents in our home. In a heat pump, there is a reversing valve that changes the direction of refrigerant flow automatically whenever heat is required. But this is not the case with the air conditioner.
