The researcher is interested in surveying $200$ fans to learn about the financial status of the family attending an NBA basketball game.

A stratified sampling would be a good sampling method in this case because we could then draw a simple random sample from each types of fans who are attending the basketball match and thus be equally represented in the sample.

A cluster sample will be based on the types of ticket prices and then with cluster sampling, the researcher divides the population into separate groups, called clusters. Then, a simple random sample of clusters is selected from the population. The researcher conducts his analysis on data from the sampled clusters. Then it will be more modified result then the stratified random sampling.
