Interpretation: The molecular formula of the acid having empirical formula C3H4O3 is to be determined.

Concept introduction:An effective method of estimating unknown concentration of given acid/base solutions is acid base titration. This method is based on the reaction occurring between H+ ions (in acid) with OH ions ( in base). For monoprotic acid-base pair, the base’s moles utilized during titration is equivalent to the acid’s moles.
