Immunoglobulins (Ig) or antibodies are glycoproteins produced by plasma B cells. Immunoglobulins play a major role in the immune system. They are specific in recognizing and binding to the antigen. The immunoglobin consists of two identical heavy and light chains joined together by disulfide bonds.
