Auditing water resources in Australia. Australia has developed a General Purpose Water Accounting (GPWA) reporting system in an effort to provide a financial accounting of water use in the country. The perceptions of potential users of the reports (e.g.. water resource managers) were investigated in Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal (Vol. 29, 2016). Each in a sample of 36 potential users of GPWA reports was asked to complete a survey. Two key survey questions (v/ith possible responses) were as follows:
Q1 : Should there be national standards for water reporting? (Yes, No, or Undecided)
Q2: How useful will the GPWA reports be for water users? (1- to 5-point scale, where 1 not useful at all and 5 = very useful)
