Interpretation: Perspiration helps in cooling the body is to be explained.
Concept introduction: Perspiration: It is the process of sweating in the body.
Answer to Problem 81A
The salty liquid released gets evaporated and the body cools.
Explanation of Solution
Perspiration is the process of releasing of salty liquids from the sweat glands. It is regulated by the nervous system using neurotransmitters acetylcholine sent to the sweat glands and it releases sweat to the skin through ducts. There are two main processes through which perspiration cools the body. Firstly, when sweat glands release sweat, the skin feels cool as it is wet.
Secondly, the liquid evaporates and releases some amount of heat from the body.
Perspiration releases heat and cools the body.
