Which teams from the league will go to the playoffs.
Answer to Problem 63CCR
Knights, Huskies, and Wildcats
Explanation of Solution
Given:
In order to find which teams from the league will go to the playoffs, as given in the question that all the teams with more than 40 points go to the playoffs, first calculating total points for each team :
For Kights, first knights wins total 14 times so the points for 1 win is 3 points so, the total win points will be calculated by multiplying 14 and 3 and then the knights ties 7 times 1 tie is equal to 1 point so the total points for the ties is calculated by multiplying 1 and 7 now, adding both the wins total points and the ties total points as shown below:
For Huskies, first huskies wins total 11 times so the points for 1 win is 3 points so, the total win points will be calculated by multiplying 11 and 3 and then the huskies ties 10 times 1 tie is equal to 1 point so the total points for the ties is calculated by multiplying 1 and 10 now, adding both the wins total points and the ties total points as shown below:
For Wildcats, first wildcats wins total 10 times so the points for 1 win is 3 points so, the total win points will be calculated by multiplying 10 and 3 and then the wildcats ties 11 times 1 tie is equal to 1 point so the total points for the ties is calculated by multiplying 1 and 11 now, adding both the wins total points and the ties total points as shown below:
For Mustangs, first mustangs wins total 9 times so the points for 1 win is 3 points so, the total win points will be calculated by multiplying 9 and 3 and then the mustangs ties 11 times 1 tie is equal to 1 point so the total points for the ties is calculated by multiplying 1 and 11 now, adding both the wins total points and the ties total points as shown below:
For Panthers, first panthers wins total 10 times so the points for 1 win is 3 points so, the total win points will be calculated by multiplying 10 and 3 and then the panthers ties 6 times 1 tie is equal to 1 point so the total points for the ties is calculated by multiplying 1 and 6 now, adding both the wins total points and the ties total points as shown below:
So, wildcats, huskies and knights have more than 40 points so, there teams wii go to the playoffs.
