In order to write an expression to find the number of fluid ounces, p is number of fluid ounces, there are 16 fluid ounces per pints, so multiply the pints by 16 to get the number of fluid ounces, as shown below:

So, the expression to find the number of fluid ounces is

(b)

How many fluid ounces are in 5 pints.

  $80\text{fluid ounces}$

GIVEN:

One pint of liquid is the same as 16 fluid ounces.

Calculation:

In order to find how many fluid ounces are in 5 pints, first multiplying 16 to 5 because 1 pint is equal to 16 fluid ounces as shown below:

  $\begin{array}{l}5\times 16\\ =80\text{fluid ounces}\end{array}$

So, there are 80 fluid ounces in 5 pints.
