Introduction:

Acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (ACD) is the first enzyme involved in the ß-oxidation of fatty acyl-CoA. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of acyl-CoA into enoyl-CoA, along with the reduction of Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide(FAD) to FADH₂. In the deficiency of acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (ACD), the condition of starvation can generate numerous symptoms thatcan result inserious complications.
