Interpretation: To determine the type of
Concept Introduction: When one kind of atom or molecule will be combined with another kind of chemical reaction, then it will be referred to as a chemical reaction.
Answer to Problem 20LC
There are five types of chemical reactions:
- Decomposition reaction.
- Double displacement reaction.
- Displacement reaction.
- Combination reaction.
- Precipitation reaction.
Explanation of Solution
There are five types of chemical reactions:
1)Decomposition reaction:
When one type of molecule will break into smaller molecules, then it will be referred to as a decomposition reaction.
2) displacement reaction:
When one type of molecule is replaced by another type of molecule, then it will be referred to as a displacement reaction.
3) Double displacement reaction.
When more than one type of molecule is replaced by another type of molecule, then it will be referred to as a double displacement reaction.
4) Combination reaction.
One compound is created when two or more other chemicals are combined. This type of reaction is named a combination reaction.
5) Precipitation reaction:
When one or more molecules will react together, they will form a precipitate during the reaction, such type of reaction is named a Precipitation reaction.
