Concept introduction:Carbocation is the reactive intermediate formed in an organic reaction that is highly reactive due to the presence of electron deficient planar carbon center.
There are various forms of carbocation determined upon number of alkyl groups to they are attached. For instance, tertiary carbocation has carbon center attached to three other carbon centers, secondary carbocation has carbon attached to two other carbon centers while primary is attached to only one alkyl group or carbon and the rest are hydrogen atoms.
