Concept Introduction:
In a molecule, if similar groups are on the same side of the plane then it is known as cis isomer and if similar groups are on the opposite sides, it is known as trans isomers.
Similarly, if the priority groups are on same side of the plane, the isomer is E and if it is opposite side of the plane, the isomer is Z.
