Molecular geometry of a molecule can be predicted by valence-shell electron-pair repulsion (VSEPR) model where atoms are arranged in such a way that the repulsion between lone pairs and bond pairs of electron on the central atom or ion should be minimalized. Because of this electrostatic repulsion there is some deviation in regular geometry.
