Chapter 47.2, Problem 2SB
Summary Introduction
To review:
The five food processing steps that occur in a digestive tube.
Introduction:
In all vertebrates and most invertebrates, digestion occurs outside the cells in a pouch or tube with the help of enzymes secreted by the epithelial cells. The digestive tract is a tube-like structure, whose one opening forms the mouth while the other forms the anus. It is also called a digestive tube, alimentary canal, or gastrointestinal tract. The inside of the tube is known as the lumen.
