Introduction:

Digestion is the process of breakdown of food molecules into smaller subunits, which are absorbed into the cells and fluids of the body and provide energy to carry out different metabolic processes. The enzymes, like protease, lipases, amylases, and nucleases, play a major role in the breakdown of food molecules. The enzymatic digestion can occur either inside or outside the cells of the body. Thus, it is categorized into intracellular and extracellular digestion.
