The alternating current induces voltage.
AC stands for Alternating current and DC stands for Direct Current. The direct current remains the same has it has no polarity so there will be no change in the magnetic field. The alternating current changes the magnetic field of the electromagnet as a result of which the voltage induces in the wire of the bulb and the light bulb gets lit.

The alternating current (AC) produces induced voltage and the light bulb gets lit.
