Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The direction of the magnetic field can be determined by using right-hand. The curl of the fingers indicates the direction of the motion of the charge and the thumb indicates the direction of the magnetic field.
Protons move counter-clockwise when seen from top of the accelerator. Then, the magnetic field would be in the direction - out of the plane of the accelerator viewed from the top.
