Concept explainers
To Explain:The change in velocity automobile with respect to time on a rest track.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The velocity of a car is measured with respect to time and the graph is drawn. The slope of velocity time graph gives acceleration of a car.
From graph, it is seen that velocity increases with time. Here, automobile starts from rest and to increase speed, driver has to shift gears.
For first time interval 0 to 5 s, the velocity increases rapidly. When driver shifts to second gear in the next time interval 5 to 12 s,initially velocity of car is lower then increases.Velocity is constant from 30 s.
