Concept explainers
The conditions which are required for viewing the rainbow in the sky.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Sunlight is white light but, it is made up of different colors. They are red, yellow, green, orange, blue, indigo, and violet. The water droplets generate light spectrum which appears in the sky, due to the phenomena of reflection, refraction, and dispersion of light in water droplets
Explanation:
Rainbows are a combination of seven colours. The sunlight passes through the water droplets suspended in air after rain. These rain droplets act as tiny prisms. The sunlight bends through these particles and deviates out into a band of colours which is reflected to form a rainbow.
The three conditions are necessary to view the rainbow are
1. Rainfall
2. There should be sunlight
3. Observer must stand facing opposite to the direction of sun.
