Interpretation:

The effect produced on separation of AQC-amino acids when C8-silica is used instead of C18-silica, in HPLC of AQC-amino acids, keeping all the other conditions same, is to be stated.

Concept introduction:

The amino acids are polar molecules. They have positive amine and negative carboxyl groups. When the polarity of amino acids is less they do not react with highly polar water molecules. They are known as hydrophobic. When the polarity is more, they react with water molecule and known as hydrophilic. Some molecules have both hydrophobic and hydrophilic ends.
