Explanation of Solution
Cysteine is one of the amino acids contains sulfur. Disulfide bridges present between cysteine chains in peptides and proteins are known as the building block for the muscles. The tertiary structure of cysteine provides strength by the presence of more disulfide linkage. The tertiary structure of proteins contains the water repel end which is a hydrophobic end and hydrogen bonding. Cysteine can be further oxidized to form a dimer. It helps to maintain the primary structure of proteins.
The sulfur containing protein is cysteine composed of tertiary structure. The cysteine function as an oxidizing agent and it is very reactive due to the presence of sulfur atoms.
