Chapter 16, Problem 20CONQ
Summary Introduction

To analyze:

Question asked to explain the response to potentially toxic matters (e.g., high levels of iron). Why eukaryotic cells frequently use translational regulatory system to avoid cell death, instead of a transcriptional regulatory system?

Introduction:

DNA is the genetic material present in all organisms. The unit of heredity is Gene thattransferred from parents to offsprings. In other terms, it is a physical and functional unit of heredity.

Central dogma- It is the directional stream of information from DNA to RNA to Protein. The process of copying DNA information to RNA is called as Transcription, while the process of translating the message copied into proteins is called as Translation.

Gene regulation is the tight regulation of the genes to be expressed according to the need of a cell. The same DNA in all cells can have a different set of genes and can express differently. These genes will govern the set of proteins to be expressed and the RNAs it contains.
