Chapter 16, Problem 23CONQ
Summary Introduction
To analyze:
To analyze three possible sources of double stranded RNA for RNAi
Introduction:
RNA interference (RNAi) is the phenomenon in which double stranded RNA causes silencing of mRNA therefore inhibiting the expression of the particular gene. It is widely found in all eukaryotes. MicroRNAs (miRNA) and short-interfering RNA (SiRNA) are two main sources that promote RNA interference.
RNA interference plays an important role in the gene expression, for example, in the embryonic development of plants and animals.
